Author Guidelines

Types of paper

Regular articles: With sufficient details on methodology, the article  should describe novel and carefully confirmed findings, and experimental procedures. Proper description of Results of length of a full paper and clear interpretation of  their scientific findings are recognized.

Short Communications:  For publishing results of small investigations or giving details of new models or hypotheses, innovative methods, techniques or apparatus, protocols A Short Communication is recommended.  It has to be of  2 to 4 printed pages (about 6 to 12 manuscript pages) in length.

Review articles: Preference for submissions of reviews and perspectives covering topics of current interest. Reviews should be succinct  and not longer than 4-6 pages (about 12 to 18 manuscript pages). Review manuscripts should have been  peer-reviewed. Authors who submit the review articles should be  keen about the original articles and should have work experience  in a particular area for atleast a decade.

Submission of MS

Taking a comprehensive and positive approach to peer review, the Journal of vertebrate science submissions based on scientific soundness and relevance rather than their perceived level of future importance. Submissions are handled by a team of international GPB. Journal of vertebrates Science, make an effort for the publication of article immediately, to avoid the delay.  JI open access publication,  advantageous for easy access download, view and citation  compared to subscription journals. Papers submitted will be peer reviewed., author (s) will be asked by the editor to revise the paper / answer the queries, on the basis of referee’s comments.. Papers are  valid  on the  basis that the work described is original and has not been published elsewhere and that the authors have  genuine authorization for publication of the material submitted.

Manuscript preparation: It should be in clear and concise English, typed script must have double space on one side of A4 size white paper with at least 2.5 cm margin. Full research paper should contain abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, acknowledgment and reference and should not exceed 20 typed pages including tables and figures. with a short abstract ,Short notes must not exceed 6 typed pages, may also be divided into different sections. as far as possible Review articles,  should not exceed 30 typed pages. It  must highlight recent developments from the author’s own field of specialization and include results of workers in the given field. before sending the manuscript For review article, authors may contact the editor . All pages should be serially numbered. All articles should be sent in duplicate. The editors reserves the right to accept/reject the manuscript. Authors are strongly advised to referee the manuscript to an expert, before submitting the journal.

Title page: The first page of the manuscript should include title, name(s) of the author(s), affiliation, and mailing address including e-mail of the corresponding author.

Abstract: On the second page of the manuscript A brief informative abstract is compulsory.  It should clearly  mention the scope of the work and its salient features.  It should be single paragraph of not more than 150 words.

Key words: For indexing purpose, the abstract should be followed by the important words of the article Introduction: It should be brief, crisp and clear. Importance of the study, past work and gaps to be addressed in the manuscript.  

Materials and Methods: Scientific proven methods/protocols must be clearly given or cited.  Any modification of the original method must be duly highlighted. This section may be subtitled for clarity. Use standard abbreviations for various units.

Results and Discussion: This section can also be subtitled for clarity. with related works  Salient/significant results must be highlighted and discussed. A brief conclusion of the research finding and future line of work may be advanced.

Descriptions of new material or improved techniques, with supporting data. Such notes require no headed sections. Summary (not more than 80-100 words) is to be provided at the end of the text.

Figures and drawings: Structure drawings, graphs and diagrams should be given in JPEG format through MS Word. Color printing of the photographs  are charged separately. Figures/structures must be numbered with figure numbers like Fig.1, Fig 2., and indication of their approximate position in the text. It is author’s responsibility to provide suitable figures and drawings. The manuscripts must be well illustrated.

Tables: Tables should be typed on separate sheets and numbered consecutively within the text in Arabic numbers. They should bear a descriptive short heading in lower case, which starts with the word “Table”. Their place in the text should be indicated.

References: Relevant references shall be quoted under each section and must be cited in full in the reference section. References to unpublished work and abstract citation may be avoided.  The following style should be adopted , i.e, APA format citation.
